Cheap
Airlines
Cheap airlines get a bad rap from quite a few
people. However, the fact is that these discounted alternatives to
some of the name brand airlines may surprise you with what they have
to offer. Here are some things about cheap airlines that you should
know.
First, it is important to establish that the cheap part of cheap
airlines has to do with the price tag only. Cheap airlines do not
scrimp when it comes to the essentials of providing a reliable
service. The pilots all meet national safety standards, just as the
pilots for better-known airlines have to meet. The flight attendants
who work for cheap airlines are just as well trained as those on any
major airline. In fact, you may find them to be a little more
sensitive to customer care, since they know that happy passengers
translate into good word of mouth, and that means more customers in
the months and years to come.
Second, the seating on cheap airlines is likely to be comparable to
what is found on any business class flight. The same is true with
overhead storage and with available legroom. In short, if you are a
tall or big person who has trouble being comfortable in business
class, you are likely to also have the same level of discomfort when
flying cheap airlines. However, an average sized person will find
the seats and the legroom to be acceptable and conducive to a good
trip.
Some cheap airlines may actually do a better job when it comes to
beverages and snacks. Generally, there is at least a good a
selection of soft drinks as with the larger airlines, and many of
the smaller cheap airlines still leave the whole can with the
passenger, instead of trying to stretch the contents to accommodate
two or three passengers. Generally, cheap airlines distinguish
themselves by offering snack packages that are slightly larger and
may include peanuts when many other airlines have gone to pretzels.
